How much are people in Scotland really drinking? - 26 May 2008

This review assesses the extent to which Scotland's routine national surveys reflect true drinking behaviour and examines how much alcohol is drunk by people in Scotland; how many are drinking more than they should; whether men drink more than women; how much young people drink; and if we are drinking more or less than we used to.  It concludes with recommendations for the improvement of Scottish survey data on alcohol consumption so that they provide a more accurate picture of Scottish drinking.
