Launch of a national communications strategy to target male and female binge drinkers;
-
Additional funding for local Alcohol Action Teams (AATs) and development of three year local alcohol action plans;
-
Appointment of a national alcohol liaison officer to support the work of AATs;
-
Development of a national alcohol information resource to benefit those who plan and provide services;
-
Publication of an alcohol problems support and treatment services framework to help local areas assess needs and plan to meet these needs;
-
Review of gaps in alcohol research and practice;
-
Development of a gender issues network on alcohol;
-
Publication of important additions to the evidence base range of what works in treating people with alcohol problems.
We are about to begin a review of progress in delivering the Plan and determine priorities for future action.
